The Star Players of Bristol County,
Inc. are seeking enthusiastic, energetic young adults to join its 2010 intern program and learn what it takes to produce a
major theatrical production.
Interns will work with Joel O. Thayer,
graduate of the Yale School of Drama and designer, director and producer with professional credits in New York City,
as he leads the Star Players of Bristol County’s summer production of “Hello Dolly!” Mr. Thayer is also
a professor in the Department of Theatre and Dance at Bridgewater State College. The
intern program will provide a supportive, nurturing atmosphere where young adults can learn and experience the challenges
of working in theater.
Six intern positions are available;
three will focus on set construction and lighting, two will focus on costumes, and one will focus on theater administration.
Interns will work weekdays and some weekends and provide technical assistance during rehearsals and performances of “Hello
Dolly!,” which will run seven shows August 13-22 at the Gerald A. Croteau Theater in Taunton. The intern program will run from July 12 to August 23 and will include a stipend
of $200 a week. Having one’s own transportation is a plus but not a requirement.
Young adults between the ages of
16 and 21 who are interested in participating should send a letter describing themselves, listing previous theatre experience,
